What is Bamba Travel?

Bamba is a global travel company offering flexible, authentic, and sustainable travel experiences. We provide independent trips, group adventures, and fully customizable itineraries in over 80 countries.

What payment methods does Bamba accept?

We accept major credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers.

Who will I be traveling with?

Most of our trips cater to adventurous, independent travelers. Many of our clients embark on their journeys solo and quickly connect with like-minded individuals along the way—whether at accommodations, during transportation, or throughout activities.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend travel insurance for all trips. We recommend Global Nomads insurance.

Bamba does not include travel insurance in its packages. Your current medical insurance may offer partial coverage, so it's important to understand your existing benefits. We advise obtaining additional travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, evacuation, repatriation, lost or stolen items, and unforeseen cancellations.

What are your booking terms and conditions?

Our terms depend on the type of trip you book. Contact us or refer to our team for the most up-to-date policies before booking.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

Yes! Please notify us in advance, and we’ll coordinate with our local partners to do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Can I customize my travel itinerary with Bamba?

Yes! We specialize in custom trips. You can choose your destinations, experiences, accommodations, and travel style.

Simply fill out our Tailor-Made Trip Form, and we'll plan the ideal adventure to match your travel needs and interests.

Does Bamba provide visa assistance?

While we don’t handle visa processing, we can guide you on what documents are needed and point you to helpful resources. Visa requirements vary depending on your destination and nationality.

Is there an age limit?

No! While many of our travelers are between 18 and 35, we welcome all who are young at heart to experience the world with us. If you're between 18 and 118, you're invited to join Bamba for the adventure of a lifetime. Please note that minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I book flights through Bamba?

We mainly focus on land services, but we can assist in coordinating your overall itinerary with your flights.

What is a Flexible Travel Pass?

It’s a self-guided pass that gives you flexible transportation and selected activities across a route, letting you travel at your own pace.

What regions do you offer Travel Passes in?

Our most popular Travel Pass routes are in Latin America and Southeast Asia.

How do I book the next leg of my journey?

Simply contact our team via email, our App, or WhatsApp to schedule the next segment of your route. We’ll handle the rest.

Can I skip stops I’m not interested in?

Yes, you can customize your route by skipping stops—just let us know so we can adjust your schedule accordingly. As long as the route you want is available.

Can I upgrade to private transfers or add experiences?

Definitely! Just tell our team what you’d like to change, and we’ll upgrade your pass or add extras.

Can I change my itinerary after purchase?

Yes, you can make changes along the way with proper notice. We recommend giving at least 24 hours' notice for booking or modifying transport.

Are accommodations included with the pass?

No, the Travel Pass includes transportation and key activities only. You’re free to choose your own accommodations. We only include accommodation in some activities that are 1 or 2 nights that are part of the pass, otherwise you choose and book your own.

Is there a time limit to use my Travel Pass?

You have 1 year to use your pass.

What happens if I miss a bus or transport segment?

Notify us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to rebook you. Additional fees may apply depending on the circumstances, but we are here to help.

Are Travel Passes refundable?

They are non-refundable once travel has started. Some flexibility may be offered if plans change before departure.

Do flexible Travel Passes suit you?

Enjoy the perfect mix of structure and freedom. Follow a curated itinerary, and book included buses and activities on the go while choosing your accommodations and pace.

What is included in a Group Adventure Trip?

You’ll join a small group for a pre-planned itinerary that includes accommodation, guided activities, and some meals depending on the trip.

Can I join a group trip solo?

Yes, many of our travelers go solo. It’s a great way to meet new people and share incredible experiences.

Are meals included?

Some meals are included, and others are left open so you can explore local cuisine on your own. Check your specific itinerary for details.

Is there free time during the trip?

Yes! Most itineraries include built-in free time to relax, explore, or do your own thing.

Can I request a private room?

Yes, single room upgrades are available on most trips for an additional cost. Let us know when booking.

How many people are in each group?

Group sizes typically range from 6 to 15 travelers to keep the experience personal and flexible.

What types of accommodation are used?

We use comfortable, clean, locally owned hotels, hostels, lodges, and sometimes homestays—depending on the destination and style of trip.

What’s the age range for group trips?

Most group trips are open to all adults, though we often have travelers between ages 18–45. Family trips and senior-friendly trips are also available.

Do I need to be super fit for group trips?

Not necessarily. Fitness levels vary depending on the trip. Some trips involve light walking while others are more active—like hikes or biking.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Are flights included in Independent Trips?

No, but we can help coordinate your itinerary around your flights.

Can I add guided tours or day trips to an Independent Trip?

Yes, you can mix in guided activities and tours—just let us know what type of experiences you’d like.

Can I travel with a partner or group?

Of course! We can build Independent Trips for solo travelers, couples, families, or small groups.

Who are Independent Trips best suited for?

They’re perfect for travelers who want freedom and flexibility without having to plan all the logistics.

Will I have support while I travel?

Yes! You’ll have access to 24/7 support via WhatsApp and email, and local contacts in each region if needed.

What kind of accommodations do you offer?

We offer a range from budget hostels, boutique hotels to high-end properties. You choose your comfort level.

Are meals included?

Typically, breakfast is included, but most meals are not. This gives you the freedom to explore local food on your own terms.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 30 days before your desired travel date for best availability, especially in high season.
